Brahmavihara-Arama



Brahmavihara-Arama better known by the name of Banjar Buddhist monasteries. This monastery is the largest Buddhist temples in Bali people. It lies in hilly areas in the village of Banjar tageha, 22km west of Singaraja, or 11km from the tourist resort of Lovina. The atmosphere is quiet and calm and direct view to the beach of Lovina cause this Buddhist monasteries become a strong attraction for tourists. This temple complex consists of five essential.

1. Uposatha Gara, located at the top of the west. This is a space that is comfortable and quiet. On the walls were carved panels birth of the Buddha, and in the middle there is a statue of the Buddha in a state of achieving nirvana. This room serves as a place penasbihan Samanera monks (monks candidates) for the next stage of training.

2. Dharmasala, a sort of lecture halls are located diebelah east. In this place where monks to worship and teach the sacred teachings. This place is also used as a place to do any spiritual activity.

3. Stupa, buildings that resembles a giant bell that is located next to the northwest corner. Its sides are made of concrete with a very impressive reliefs.

4. Bodi Tree, located at the southwest corner of the building. Around the tree is decorated with reliefs. This place symbolizes the victory of the Buddha when it reaches sammia the buddha (the perfection of the eternal)

5. Kuti, is the abode of the monks and students who are studying. Sometimes this place is also used for training monks.

In the complex, there are several statues of Buddha temples which adorn every corner of the garden or room. of which there are two statues of Buddha which is very interesting that Parinirwana sculpture and statues of Buddha as the Buddha is achieving its nirvana.
